Project: Aspirating Smoke Detection
With this contract the design brief was to design, supply and install a fire detection system in 9 control rooms to a Class A detection system for early warning of fire in accordance with BS6266, BS7273 and BS5839.
This was achieved using the Xtralis Aspirating Smoke Detection systems (ASD) and took 9 weeks to install.
Safe, Secure and Reliable Solutions
The system comprises of control units that constantly monitor the air in the rooms and voids via red PVC pipes that are installed on the ceiling and under the floor voids. The pipes have sample points installed that draws air into the system and is analysed for smoke particles and provides very early warning of a possible problem so it can be managed. The systems are linked to the existing gaseous flooding extinguishing systems on site.
